For her outstanding “great moment at home” story, Kara received a ,000 in Hbc gift cards. Kara and her husband recently purchased their home with the help of Miko Nalepa, a Royal LePage agent from the Royal LePage Downtown Branch in Toronto. Read Kara's story describing her first great moment at home:

"The first of many great moments at home...

On the day we officially took possession of our new home, a mid-February snowstorm blew into Toronto that kept even the bravest city dwellers indoors. But nothing could stop my husband, Chris, and I from driving our 1984 BMW, stuffed with a futon mattress and a cold bottle of champagne in the trunk, across the city, to take in the significance of what we had spent months pursuing: our first home. 
A season earlier, the forefront of winter was mild at best. We began our hunt for a Toronto home in late September, despite the escalating housing prices and bidding wars. But after viewing multiple houses, placing offers on some, and losing each, our optimism, like the last of the autumn leaves, began to wither.

Still, the weather was mild, so we pushed on, even as Christmas inched closer. We had the buyers bug. It was during this time that a drive in east Toronto led us to what would now be our home. It was also around that time that it began to snow. And snow.

Indeed, it was a series of snowstorms that kept open-house attendance low. And with a few brave bids on our part, the house was ours. So, how could we not welcome a cold and bitter winter? Perhaps that's why on that mid-February evening we drove up the slippery slope to our new home, with wheels spinning and gobs of snow splattering skyward, to discover a street alive with neighbours offering shovels and muscle. A welcome party of sorts. Together, we inched that poor car into our new driveway, shivering with excitement and cold. And like the champagne we opened moments after fumbling in the dark for the right key to open the front door, that evening also spilled over with our dreams of what would eventually be within the walls we now owned. That was to be the first of many great moments at home."
